Employee portal

Employee portal

The employee-facing front door to TENSOR for news, required acknowledgements, help, requests and colleagues.

The TENSOR Employee Portal is the front door for everyone in your company, not only for IT. It is the page an employee opens in the morning to see what is happening, to do what needs doing, to find who to ask, and to get help when something is broken.

Behind it sits the full TENSOR service management platform, but employees never have to learn that platform. They use a separate, simpler portal with its own navigation.

The portal answers four everyday questions without extra clicks:

  • Know: company updates, news and events.
  • Do: my requests, my issues, required acknowledgements.
  • Go: quick links to the tools the company uses.
  • Ask: knowledge articles, colleagues and live help.

Who uses it

PersonaWhat they do in the portal
Employee (every active member of your organisation)Reads updates and news, acknowledges mandatory policies, votes in polls, reports issues, requests services, follows their own requests, searches knowledge, finds colleagues, checks their profile and assigned devices.
Manager / approverApproves or rejects service requests that need their decision, and delegates approvals while absent.
Portal manager / editorPublishes company updates, events, polls and banners; curates quick links; arranges the home page; previews and schedules content.
Tenant administratorSwitches portal features on, sets branding, governs the people directory together with the works council, connects the company directory.
Compliance officerChecks acknowledgement coverage of mandatory policies and uses the receipts as evidence.
Works council memberReviews aggregated, pseudonymised information; co-determines the people directory and employee polls.

Problems it solves

  • One place instead of many tools. Employees no longer need to know which of eight tools to open: news, links, help, requests and colleagues are in one place.
  • Provable policy distribution. Policies sent by email are hard to prove. A mandatory acknowledgement in the portal writes a tamper-evident receipt the moment an employee confirms it.
  • Fewer status calls. Employees see the status of their own issues and requests and can reply directly, instead of calling the service desk to ask.
  • Self-service first. Self-service knowledge and suggested articles solve common problems before a ticket is raised.
  • Deliberate publication of people data. Nothing from the company directory becomes visible until an administrator publishes it, after the works council has agreed.
